Obituary


Thomas Gwathmey “Chip” Wood, son of the late Phinehas Earle and Elizabeth Jean Thomas Wood passed away suddenly at home, Saturday October 15, 2016 at the age of 65. A memorial service will be conducted 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Horne Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Ross Carter officiating.



He is survived by his wife: Sarah W. Wood, daughter: Sarah Beth Wood, son: William Thomas Wood all of Clayton, sister: Laura W. Klutz and her husband Barry of Charlotte, brother: John P. Wood and his wife Michelle of Holly Springs, nephew...

He is survived by his wife: Sarah W. Wood, daughter: Sarah Beth Wood, son: William Thomas Wood all of Clayton, sister: Laura W. Klutz and her husband Barry of Charlotte, brother: John P. Wood and his wife Michelle of Holly Springs, nephew and niece Peyton and Lindsey Wood of Holly Springs.



Chip loved serving his Lord and Savior at Horne Memorial UMC through singing in the choir, ringing hand bells, the Methodist’s Men’s Group, and working with the Boy Scouts. He was able to enjoy serving in cooking with the Methodist’s Men’s, and the Heart of Carolina Chrysalis community.



In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: Horne Memorial United Methodist Men’s group and Boy Scouts of America, Troop 124.
