Dr. Frederick (Fred) I. Clifford died Thursday morning, December 1st, surrounded by his family. Dr. Clifford's ministry as a pastor, family counselor, and administrator for Wayne Christian School spanned nearly 60 years. Prior to beginning ministry, he served four years in the US Army and US Air Force that included an overseas deployment for combat operations during the Korean War. His professional education includes Bachelors Degree in Theological Studies, Masters Degree in Theological Studies, and Doctorate in Family Counseling. In 2015, he authored the book titled "Love Is a Many Splendored Thing."

He is survived by his beautiful wife of 58 years, Irene; sisters, Rosamond and Jacqueline, of Florida; son, Freddie, with wife, Lisa, and children, Ethan and Ansley, of Spring Lake; son, Eddie, with wife, Gwen, and children James, Mitchel, Sophia and Emma of LaGrange; and daughter, Rebecca, with husband, Tim, of Clayton.



A memorial service will be held Sunday, December 11th, at 4:30 PM, at Hocutt Baptist Church. Online condolences may be made to the Clifford family at www.mclaurinatpinecrest.com. In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family asks you to perform an act of kindness, service, charity or make donations to Wayne Christian School in Goldsboro NC or Hocutt Baptist Church in Clayton, NC.
